First Day of School

We started school last Thursday. It was ok. Its school, ya know? It feels pretty cool though, because I’m in eighth grade this year in the middle school. The middle school has 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. So now I’m in the highest grade and older than all the other kids. I’m used to going to school in the morning in a car because my parents would just drop me off on their way to work. But this year my parents are on one end and the school is way on the other end. So this year I have to ride the busL. I can tell you right now that I absolutely positively DO NOT like the bus!!!! It’s too crowded and the high school kids cuss and talk about inappropriate stuff where the younger kids can hear and that makes me really mad!!!! Our bus runs at 6:50 in the morning and we are one of the first (about 5th) picked up, but we are the second to last to be dropped off. The girl who lives right across from us is the last one to be dropped off. She’s really nice by the way. But I won’t have to ride the bus home barely at all because I have volleyball practice or games mostly every day after school.
When we get to school we have to go directly to the gym and sit down on the bleachers. I don’t like that because you don’t get to sit wherever you want. They make you sit with your gender and your grade. At exactly 7:40 they start letting the 6th graders go, then the 7th graders, and last the 8th graders. My favorite teachers so far would have to be Mrs. Zieren (English) and Mrs. Smith (American History). Right after 2nd period we go to break, which allows us to eat and drink snacks. We have two concession stands that we can buy food from, or we can bring our own food. We have break for 10 minutes and then we go to our 3rd period class. Our lunch starts at 11:30. I don’t eat the school’s food because it is absolutely revolting, so my Dad fixes my lunch every morning so that I can take my lunch to school and have decent food. Sometimes I wonder how in the world our school’s lunch people got an A on their lunch report. We get out of school at 3:03. Well I hope this school year is really good. Well just to let y’all know that I will now be writing regularly on my blog.
Love’s in the air and everywhere.
Oh yeah…I wanted to tell y’all that Obama and McCain might be coming to our school while they are in Oxford doing their presidential debate at Ole Miss. Isn’t that cool? I personally, if I was old enough, would vote for McCain. No competitionJ.
